Sitting Still

17-20 July

with Family and Friends

It was time to get off the road and sit still and reflect. Reflection of the last few weeks, the last few years and the last few decades.  Nothing is ever perfect but as my life’s moments of angst fade, and I count all the blessings bestowed, excitement builds dreaming of adventures, of my own choosing, leading to the end of the trail.  To sit on the Bitter Root River anticipating the possibility of a Moose siting during a spectacular sun set, are good times.

It is hard to describe this part of the country with words, but for a flavor for this part of Montana watch the movie “ The River Runs Through it” directed by Robert Redford and starring Brad Pitt. Set in and around Missoula, Montana, the story follows two sons, one studious and the other rebellious, as they grow up and come of age in the Rocky Mountain, fishing on the Bitter Root River. A little Reminisant of some fly-fishing friends from long ago, which neither look like Brad Pitt.
