The Gelandewagen is finally coming home to the Tortuga Toy Box. It has been 14 long months, but the makeover was not totally complete — she needed a few final few details.
As with any old truck, there are hundreds of details to chase and the last two on the initial rehab list were the blower motor that screamed like a banshee when you turned on the switch for the heater, and one windshield wiper that was not synchronized with the others.
After hours of frustration trying to solve these two last issues, I went out to find a professional and I found that professional in Ronnie Jackson’s Mercedes in downtown Houston.
Not only did he solve those problems with ease, he got excited about helping to finish the final touches for this Cold War G-wagen — painting the seat frame and new upholstery.
Attention to detail is Ronnie’s trademark. Thanks to Ronnie for helping to get Gelandewagen home and ready to go on the next mile of adventure.
